Privacy Policy

• We collect the account details you give us and the activity you create in the app — your ratings, watchlist, history and posts.
• We do not sell your personal data.
• We do not show third-party advertising, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
• You can permanently delete your account and its data from inside the app at any time, without asking us.

When you create an account we collect your email address and a password. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes by our authentication provider; we never see them.

Your profile may also include a display name, username, short bio, profile photo, cover photo, location, preferred content language, favorite genres and favorite titles. All of this is optional except a display name, and you choose who can see it in the app's privacy settings.

The service is built around the activity you record, so we store it and associate it with your account:

• Titles you add to your library, your watchlist, and your watch history
• Ratings and reviews you write
• Favorites, and the history of changes to them
• Posts, comments and reactions in the social feed
• Friend relationships, follows, and any accounts you block
• Trivia answers, scores, streaks and ranking
• Your XO Coins balance and the transaction history behind it
• Streaming services you tell us you subscribe to, so we can show where to watch
• Content reports and flags you submit

If you enable push notifications we store a push token for your device so we can deliver them. You can turn notifications off in your device settings at any time.

We record in-app product analytics events — for example that a screen was viewed, a search was run, or a title was rated — together with your account id and the app version. We use these only to understand which features are used and to find broken flows. We do not use them for advertising or profiling, and we do not combine them with data from other companies.

• We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.
• We do not serve third-party advertising in the app.
• We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and we do not use advertising identifiers.
• We do not use your data to train machine-learning models.
• We do not access your camera, microphone, contacts or location. The app asks for photo library access only when you choose a profile picture or import a screenshot, and the photo you pick is the only one we receive.

We use a small number of service providers, and only for the purposes below:

• Supabase — hosts our database, authentication and file storage. Your account and activity data is stored there.
• The Movie Database (TMDB) and OMDb — supply film and TV metadata, artwork and critic ratings. When you view a title, a request for that title's details is sent to these providers. We do not send them your identity.
• Expo — delivers push notifications to your device, if you have enabled them.

We may also disclose information if we are legally required to, or to protect the safety of our users.

ReelXO does not currently sell anything inside the app. XO Coins are earned through use, have no cash value, and cannot be purchased, transferred or exchanged.

Our database and file storage are hosted in the United States. If you use the service from elsewhere, your information is transferred to and processed there.

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. Delete your account and it is removed immediately — see below. Aggregated statistics that cannot identify you may be retained.

You can delete your account yourself, at any time, from inside the app: Profile → Privacy & Data → Delete Account. You will be asked to type DELETE to confirm.

This is immediate and permanent — not a request that we process later. It removes your login, profile, photos, ratings, watchlist, watch history, favorites, posts, comments, reactions, friendships, trivia record and coin balance.

Two things intentionally survive, because they are not personal data and other people depend on them: entries in our shared film and TV catalog stay in the catalog, and moderation records are kept for safety — both with any link to you removed. If your account was used to publish editorial content, contact us and we will reassign it before deletion.

You can also ask us for a copy of your data by emailing us.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. The in-app tools above cover access and deletion directly; for anything else, email us and we will respond.

ReelXO is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

If we make a material change we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
