Wild, Feral Thing

At 73, kiteboarder Mikaya Heart lives out of her 1983 Toyota pickup in the Columbia River Gorge. As she glides across the wind-swept water, Mikaya reflects on her philosophy of yielding to nature’s forces rather than resisting them; a lesson embodied in both her minimalist lifestyle and her approach to kiteboarding. In her voice and movement, we discover a life stripped to its essentials and lived in harmony with the elements.
