Bernhard's decision to undergo euthanasia has a profound effect on his loved ones. On their last evening together, they sing, laugh, and cry. However, doubts and dilemmas prevail, accompanied by the painful realization that Bernhard will no longer be with them the following morning at 9 o'clock.
